Command Mode
Privileged EXEC
8-142 clear ipv6 dhcp binding
Deletes a given automatic address binding from the DHCP server database. The address parameter must
be a valid IPv6 address.
On the DHCP for the lPv6 server, a binding table entry is automatically:
•
Created whenever the delegation of a prefix to a client from the configuration pool occurs.
•
Updated when the prefix delegation is renewed, rebinded, or confirmed by the client.
•
Deleted when all the prefixes in the binding are voluntarily released by the client, all the prefixes’
valid lifetimes have expired, or the clear IPv6 DHCP binding command is run by an administrator.
In the event that the
clear ipv6 dhcp binding
command is utilized with the optional
ipv6-address
argument specified, then only the binding for the client that is specified is deleted. When the
clear ipv6
dhcp binding
command is utilized without the ipv6-address argument, then all of the automatic client
bindings are cleared from the DHCP for IPv6 binding table.
