Field Remedy
- Select Service Mode > COPIER > COUNTER > FIXING > FX-CNT, and then OK key.
The total number of sheets fed through the Fixing Assembly is displayed by converting to small size sheets.
1st line: Total counter value from the previous replacement
2nd line: Estimated life
The display of the total number of sheets fed though the Fixing Assembly is used to check the wear of parts and to replace them.
When clearing the counter: Select the item and then press Clear key.
When changing the replacement estimate: Select the item, enter the value and then press OK key.
[Caution]
Clear the counter value after the parts replacement. At the same time, FX-BLT-U/L, FXLW-TH1/2, FX-RF-RL, FX1-RFRL, FX-U-TM1 to 5, FX-RTM, FX-U-
STR, FX-L-TM1 to 5, and FX-MTR2 to 5 are also cleared.

Description
Please explain how to check the Nip Width.
Field Remedy
If paper wrinkles and fixing failures occurred, check that the Fixing Nip Width is within the specified range. However, the Fixing Nip Width of this machine cannot
be adjusted in the field.
Field Remedy
Check the Nip Width on following conditions of use.
- When replacing Fixing related parts (Fixing/Pressure Belt Unit)
- When the fixing image failure or fixing feed failure occurs
The operation method is as follows.
1) Load the paper for test print to the paper source.
- A4/LTR
- Plain Paper (75-90g/m2)/Coated Paper (106-128g/m2)
2) Select COPIER > TEST > PG > TXPH, and set "1" "Gradation" screen).
3) Select the density for each color to match the paper type.
- Plain Paper: Set "0" for DENS-Y/M/C and "255" for DENS-K (solid black)
- Coated Paper: Set "0" for DENS-Y/K and "255" for DENS-M/C (solid blue) or "0" for DENS-Y/M/C and "128" for DENS-K (black halftone)
4) Set "5" (Full Page Halftone) for TYPE. A test print is output.
5) Set the output paper from step 4 to the Multi-purpose Tray Pickup Tray (if not available, Cassette 1).
6) Select Service Mode > COPIER > FUNCTION > FIXING > NIP-CHK, and press OK key. Select items of NIP-CHK and then press OK key. After stopping for
"10 seconds" at the Fixing Nip, this paper is automatically ejected.
7) Measure Nip Widths at 3 locations (a, b, c).
<Specified value>
- Center: 15.5 +/- 1.0mm
- Edges: 17.5 +/- 1.0mm (15mm positions from edges)
