Dynamic regeneration

Dynamic regeneration starts semi-automatically

(see picture indicating that regeneration will start

soon). The operator can cancel dynamic

regeneration by selecting Stop menu on I-ECU.

(Menu —> Engine-> Regen start/stop —> Stop)

During dynamic regeneration, only the HEST (High

exhaust temperature) lamp is on, see symbol. This

is to indicate that regeneration is in progress and

that the exhaust temperature has increased. No

further message is displayed. Do not shut down the

engine while the HEST lamp is on.
NOTE!

The machine must be in an area that is not sensitive

to heat while the symbol is lit.

Service regeneration

If a requested regeneration is delayed for too long,

the PM (particulate matter)-load in the DPF (diesel

particulate filter) will be too high for a safe parked

regeneration. Then regeneration must be started

with Volvo's service tool in order to perform a safe

regeneration.

Fuel consumption

During automatic, parked, and dynamic

regeneration, the fuel consumption may increase.
