15.5. High Pressure switch test
These service instructions describe the procedures and products to be used to check the correct operation of HP
switch in system, and verify and record the pressure target of high pressure switch.
Indeed, according to national regulations, check the protection devices on site in accordance with standards EN
378/ISO 5149: once a year for the high-pressure switches, every five years for external relief valves.
The procedure mentions here only the principle of a test without removing the pressure switch:
•
Connect a calibrated pressure gauge (with Schrader female port of ½ UNF)
•
Be ready to switch-off the main disconnect switch (on the unit or on the installation) of the power supply if the
pressure switch does not trigger (avoid over-pressure)

Complete an HP Switch Test as provided by the control system function:

Note: The Rating Mode is implemented for test
purpose (Lab tests, …). When the Rating Mode is
active, Water Control Point is ignored by the control.
The Pump is forced to run during the Rating Mode.

The Rating Mode is implemented for test purpose (Lab tests, …). When the Rating
Mode is active, Water Control Point is ignored by the control.
The Pump is forced to run during the Rating Mode.
If the test leads to replacing the pressure switch, it is necessary to recover the
refrigerant charge, these pressure switches are not installed on automatic valves
(Schrader type).
At least once a year, visually inspect the protection devices (valves, pressure
switches).
