Monobloc Outdoor Unit Service Manual

12.13.

BPHE Replacement

Tools:

Screwdriver
Wrench of 5mm
Wrench of 38mm
Wrench of 51mm
Wrench of 55mm
Burner

Steps:

1.  Perform the works (12.1), (12.2), (12.3), (12.4) and (12.11)
2.  Empty the water of hydraulic circuit with the drain valve
3.  Reclaim refrigerant gas
4.  According to case:

-

If no hydronic module, unscrew the 2 screws, which maintain the water pipe on the back

bracket

-

If fixed speed pump, unscrew the hydraulic connection 1 with wrench of 55mm

-

If variable speed pump, unscrew the hydraulic connection 1 with wrench of 51mm

-

And unscrew the hydraulic connection 2 with wrench of 38mm

5.  Remove thermal insulation around BPHE and detach the electric heater from BHPE
6.  Unbraze refrigerant inlet / outlet BPHE
7.  Unscrew completely the higher nut and unscrew partially the lower nut with wrench of 5mm
8.  Lift up the BPHE to extract the BPHE from support (oblong holes)

After component replacement, open the water supply source and water piping valve to
pass water through the hydronic kit and check that the connection has no water leakage

-

After connecting the refrigerant pipe, check that the connection has no refrigerant
leakage

-

Ensure flames of burner do not damage the close components

-

On new BPHE, put the electric heater on the same location as initially and replace the
thermal insulation around the BPHE

No hydronic module

With fixed speed hydronic module

BPHE with thermal
