4. Clean the filter with water

The following is a check list for fixed speed pump procedures:

Ensure that all lines supplying the pump have
been flushed before the pump is installed
Clean liquid prevent pump wearing
Check that all filtering / straining devices are
clear of debris and have positive inlet pressure Low inlet pressure may cause
pump cavitation
Measure electric insulation 23 ohms between phases
Check for proper motor rotation
Wrong rotation may cause
mechanical seal damages and low
water flow.
Measure motor currents value at duty point and
verify proper motor protection set-up
Motor data label
The motor currents may be saved
used for predictive maintenance
Check for proper voltage (under load, as close to
the motor as possible)
Check for leaks and ensure all fittings are
properly tightened
Bump start the pump and listen for any unusual
sounds measure vibration in correspondence of
motor shield
The motor vibration may be saved
used for predictive maintenance
Check:
- water flow rate according the selection - flow
switch status and pressure
-measure pressure at zero flow
The motor vibration may be saved
used for predictive maintenance
No check is to be done on variable speed pump, if VS pump doesn’t operate, it is
necessary to replace the VS pump.
