Tail Pipe Replacement

1. Remove the band clamp, then remove the tail pipe from the top outlet of the muffler.
2. Replace the tail pipe by installing it on the top outlet opening of the muffler.

Do not reuse

aluminized steel band clamps. See important Notices and instructions in “Exhaust Clamp

Installation” above.

Ensure that both pipes are completely sealed by the clamp.

Exhaust Pipe Replacement

1. Remove the band clamp that secures the exhaust elbow to the exhaust pipe.
2. To remove the elbow only, remove the clamp that attaches the elbow to the lower outlet of the

muffler and then remove the elbow.

3. Remove the band clamp that attaches the pipe to the turbocharger outlet adapter.

4. Remove the nuts from the U-bolts that secure the pipe to the mounting brackets on the engine

compartment ceiling.

5. Remove the exhaust pipe from the engine compartment.
6. Replace the elbow by installing the two band clamps and the elbow in position between the muf-

fler and exhaust pipe.

Do not reuse aluminized steel band clamps. See important Notices and

instructions in “Exhaust Clamp Installation” above.

Ensure that both pipes are completely

sealed by the clamps.

7. Replace the exhaust pipe by installing it between the elbow and turbocharger outlet adapter. Fol-

low the steps given in “Exhaust Clamp Installation” above. Ensure that both pipes are completely

sealed by the clamp.
