Selection:(1) = >
Select the option:
• Option 1, will perform a normal boot from the network controller hard disk.
• Option 2, is used to perform the AltBoot process. Move onto AltBoot -Stage 2
• Option 3, will allow you to run simple diagnostics see AltBoot Process - Diagnostic Menu.
• Option 4, is used to reboot the network controller if you decide not to AltBoot.
Press key ‘2’ and continue to Stage 2.
AltBoot Process - Stage 2
The following menu is displayed in the AltBoot terminal window:

1. Return to Main Menu
2. Download Linux Netboot Image

Selection:(1) = >
Sect the option:
• Option 1, will return you to the Main Menu AltBoot Process - Stage 1
• Option 2, continues with the AltBoot process.
Press key 2 within 30 seconds to continue.
You should now see Download Request appear in the status bar at the bottom left. A file open
window will then appear.
You should enter the ‘Filename’ box or use the browse button to select the Linux Kernel file.
Select Open button. The transfer progress dialog is displayed.
The Progress Bar will display how far it is through the transfer.
You can cancel the transfer at any time by pressing the Cancel button. If the download fails or
you press Cancel button you will need to choose Options -> Reset Terminal and start again
from the AltBoot Hardware and Software.
If the transfer completes successfully the Transfer dialog will close automatically and another
File Open window is displayed.
You must enter in the ‘Filename’ box or use the Browse button to select the Linux Root File
System File.
Select the ‘Open’ button. The Transfer Progress dialog is displayed, text scrolls on the AltBoot
screen.
The Progress Bar displays how far it is through the transfer.
You can cancel the transfer at any time by pressing the Cancel button. If the down load fails
press the Cancel button you will need to choose ‘Options -> Reset Terminal’ and start again
from the AltBoot Hardware and Software.
If the transfer completes successfully the transfer progress dialog will shut automatically. To
continue with the AltBoot process see AltBoot Process - Stage 3.
