Using in the IPv4 environment
Overview
To use this machine by connecting it to the IPv4 network, follow the below procedure to configure the set-
tings.

Setting the method to assign an IP address to this machine

For details on how to assign an IP address, refer to page 5-2.

If you resolve the name using the host name when accessing a computer or server on the network from
this machine, register your DNS server address to this machine.

For details on how to register the DNS server, refer to page 5-3.

When you are using the DHCP server, information of the DNS server used for resolving the name
may be able to be obtained automatically.

If your DNS server supports the Dynamic DNS function, register the host name and domain name of
this machine and enable Dynamic DNS, if necessary.

Assigning an IP address
To use this machine in the IPv4 network environment, assign an IP address to this machine.
In the administrator mode, select [Network] - [TCP/IP Setting] - [TCP/IP Setting], then configure the following
settings.

Description
[TCP/IP]
Select [ON] to use the TCP/IP.
[ON] is specified by default.
[Network Speed]
Select the network speed according to your environment.
[Auto (10M/100Mbps)] is specified by default..
[IP Address Setting
Method]
To manually enter the IP address, select [Manual Setting].
To automatically obtain the IP address, select [Auto Setting], then specify the
auto input method. In normal circumstances, select the [DHCP] check box.
[Auto Setting] is specified by default.
[IP Address]
If you select [Manual Setting] for [IP Address Setting Method], enter the fixed
IP address assigned to the machine.
[Subnet Mask]
If you select [Manual Setting] for [IP Address Setting Method], enter the subnet
mask.
[Default Gateway]
If you select [Manual Setting] for [IP Address Setting Method], enter the default
gateway.
