Troubleshooting
6.2 Built-in Thermal Array Recorder

Check if the error message "Thermal
head heat up" appears. Temperature is
indicated as 63°C or more.
Wait to start printing until the
message goes off. Use the [Status]
window in the maintenance menu
to check thermal print head
temperature.
Check whether the cables connecting
the thermal print head have come
loose.
Connect the cables securely to the
CN4 connector.

Check the thermal print head for
soiling.
Clean the thermal print head. Use a
cotton swab immersed in alcohol
for cleaning.
Use the [Built-in Recorder Test] window
in the maintenance menu to make
adjustments to the thermal print head.
If the adjustments do not correct
the problem, replace the thermal
print head.

Printout is too light
and misses dots.
Check the service life of the thermal
print head. The thermal print head is a
consumable and deteriorates with use.
(Service life: approx. 50 km of
continuous printing)
Replace the thermal print head.
Check the thermal print head for
soiling.
Clean the thermal print head.

Uneven paper speed
and unstable printing
Check the service life of the paper
drive motor. The paper drive motor is a
consumable and deteriorates with use.
(Service life: approx. 8,000 hours of
continuous printing)
Replace the paper drive motor.

printing is started.
