5.3.2 Testing Built-in Thermal Array Recorder
This function tests chart paper feed and recorder printing.
5.3.2.1 Test Method
(1) Press the (Menu) key to open the [Top Menu], then touch [Initial Setting/Maintenance] Æ
[Maintenance] Æ [OK (
↵
)] Æ [Built-in Recorder Test] to open the [Built-in Recorder Test] window.
(2) Select print type (square waves, diagonal lines, stripes) and record speed (5 mm/s, 10 mm/s,
12.5 mm/s, 25 mm/s, 50 mm/s) and press the (Start) key to start printing.
To stop printing, press the (Stop) key. Touch [Return] to return to the [Maintenance menu].

[Square Wave]
Sets the printer to output square waves.
・
[Diagonal Line]
Sets the printer to output diagonal lines.
・ [Stripe]
Sets the printer to output stripes.
Used to check head contact.

[5 mm/s], [10 mm/s], [12.5 mm/s], [25 mm/s], [50 mm/s]
Use this function to set the record speed.
・
[Execute]
Starts an automatic test. Sets the printer to print square waves Æ diagonal lines Æ square
waves Æ stripes at 5 mm/s, 10 mm/s, 12.5 mm/s, 25 mm/s and 50 mm/s record speed. To stop
printing, press the (Stop) key.
5.3.2.2 Criteria
The test print must meet the following conditions.

The chart paper must be fed without meandering.
・
There must be no bent at either edge of chart paper.
・
There must be no uneven recording, uneven density or
fogging.
・
There must be no missing dots.
・
Paper speed deviation
5, 10, 12.5, 25, 50 mm/s ±3%
Print square waves to check record speed.
