5.4.3 Performing Automatic Tests
Use this function to automatically test the built-in thermal array recorder, display, PC
connections, serial connections, printer connections, CF cards, program cartridge connections
and SRAM and display the results on the screen.
5.4.3.1 Test Method
(1) Load chart paper in the built-in thermal array recorder.
(2) Connect a PC to the LAN connector of the VS-1500.

(3) Use a serial wrap cable to connect to the VS-1500 SERIAL connector.

(4) Connect a printer to the PRINTER connector on the VS-1500.

(5) Load a CF card and program cartridge.

(6) Press the (Menu) key to open the [Top Menu], then touch [Initial Setting/Maintenance] Æ
[Maintenance] Æ [OK (

[ ↵ ] Æ [Automatic Test] to open the [Automatic Test] window.
(7) Touch [Start] to start the test. To end the test, touch [End].
(8) Touch [Return] to return to the [Manufacturer Maintenance menu].
• [Not Yet] Prior to testing
• [Test in Progress] Now testing
• [Test Passed] Test result indicates pass
• [No Good] Test result indicates fail
5.4.3.2 Criteria
All tests must produce a [Test Passed] result.
