Chapter 6 Troubleshooting
5 The error message “BP
error” appears.
(BP measurement cannot
be made) Check it cuffs are correctly wound
and whether the patient is relaxed. Make sure the patient is relaxed
before remeasurement. A weak
pulse, body movement and
arrhythmia may prevent
measurement.
Check if there is any air in the
cuffs. Disconnect the hose and let air out
of the cuffs.
Check waveform at atmospheric
pressure and check the baseline.
If the baseline wanders, the cuff
PCB is defective and should be
replaced.
Disconnect the air hoses and press
[Offset] in the [Pump Unit] window
of the manufacturer maintenance
menu to check the positive
pressure (P) and supplementary
pressure (Q). If the difference between positive
pressure (P) and supplementary
pressure (Q) is 10 mmHg or more,
replace the cuff PCB.
6 The error message “Offset
error” appears.
(Pressure at atmospheric
pressure is unstable)
Check the C359 main board for
short-circuiting. (

Improve insulation.
Check for clogging in cuffs and air
hoses. Remove whatever clogs the cuff or
air hose.
Check air passages or pressure
detector in the case for clogging. Remove any kinks.
Remove whatever clogs the cuff or
air hose.
Perform the [Pressure Test] in the
maintenance menu and check
exhaust characteristics at 100%
and 75% open. (

The air control unit (flow control
valve) is defective and should be
replaced.
7 The error message “Valve
error” appears.
(Deflation or exhausting
takes too long)
Check the C359 main board for
short-circuits. (

Improve insulation.
Check if the right cuff size is used. Use a size in the applicable cuff
range.
Check if pressure accuracy is
correct. (

If appropriate accuracy cannot be
obtained, replace the cuff PCB.
8 Blood pressure is too high
or too low.
Perform the [Pressure Test] in the
maintenance menu and check the
pump unit function.
If anything is defective, replace the
pump unit.
Check whether the air hose and
cuffs are connected. Reconnect securely. 9 Measurement site and
pressure site do not
match.
Perform [Pressure Upper Limit]
Test in the maintenance menu.
Place your hand close to the
VS-1500 air connectors to check if
air is output in the order, right
brachial
Æ left brachial Æ Right
ankle Æ Left ankle. (
