batteries, and then administer aid to injured persons. Rectify the cause of the malfunction or
accident. Check the condition of the device for damage before resuming operation.
Always cut o
ff
the power supply by disconnecting the batteries: when the user leaves the
device; before removing a jam; before inspection, cleaning, or works on the device; after the
device hit a foreign object to check it for damage; if the device starts to vibrate abnormally to
check the device immediately.
Disconnecting the device from the power supply consists of turning o
ff
the device with the
power switch and disconnecting the power source. In the case of mains-powered devices, it
is done by disconnecting the power cord plug from the mains socket. However, in the case
of battery-powered devices, it is done by disconnecting the battery.
If any excessive vibrations of the device occur after starting or during operation, this means
that it is not working correctly. In such a case, immediately turn o
ff
the device with the power
switch, disconnect the batteries, and perform a check. Check the correctness of the cutting
element installation and the device assembly. After removing the installation irregularities, the
device must be assembled, connected to the power supply, and restarted. If abnormal vibra-
tion persists, immediately turn o
ff
the device with the power switch, disconnect the batteries
and hand the device over to an authorised service centre.
Although precautions have been taken during the device’s engineering and design and con-
sidering that the guidelines in this manual have been followed, there is still a residual risk in
terms of exposure to vibration and noise. Therefore, use personal protective equipment, do
not work too long, and take regular breaks.
Never touch the dangerous moving parts before disconnecting the device from the power
supply and until all dangerous moving parts stop.
The cutting element rotates for some time after the motor is stopped.
Make sure that the batteries have been disconnected from the device before carrying out
maintenance.
Keep the device out of reach of unauthorised persons, especially children. Make sure that the
device is out of the reach of unauthorised persons, especially children also during operation.
GENERAL WARNINGS FOR THE SAFETY OF MACHINES
Warning! Read all safety warnings, illustrations and speci
fi
cations provided with this machine.
Failure to do so may result
in electric shock,
fi
re or serious injury.
Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “machine” used in warnings applies to all machines driven by power both wired and wireless.
Workplace safety
Keep the workplace well-lit and clean.
Disorder and poor lighting can be causes of accidents.
Do not work with machines in an environment with an increased risk of explosion, containing
fl
ammable liquids, gases
or vapors.
Power machines generate sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
Children and third persons should not be allowed to enter the workplace.
Loss of concentration can result in loss of control.
Electrical safety
The plug of the electric cable must match the power socket. You must not modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
plug adapters with earthed machines.
An unmodi
fi
ed plug that
fi
ts the outlet reduces the risk of electric shock.
Avoid contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators and coolers.
Grounding the body increases the risk of electric shock.
Do not expose machines to contact with atmospheric precipitation or moisture.
Water and moisture that gets inside the
machine increases the risk of electric shock.
