3.3 Cleaning Scanner Components
When you clean components, use cleaning tools (such as gauze and cotton swabs).
Never use dirty ones.
Extra caution is required when you clean the CIS Unit assembly (Front / Back).
3.3.1 Cleaning CIS Unit assembly (Front) and CIS Unit assembly (Back)
Notice:
•
If the glass part is borken, chipped, or cracked, replace the CIS Unit assembly (Front /
Back).
•
Absolute ethanol is usable for cleaning
•
When you clean parts, do it scrupulously.
As shown in the figure below, remove the paper dust and foreign objects on the CIS Unit assembly (Front)
and CIS Unit assembly (Back) with gauze or the like.
•
When scanning the front side has a problem, clean the glass surface of the CIS Unit assembly (Front) and
remove paper dust on the White Backgroud and the black part of the CIS Unit assembly (Back).
•
When scanning the back side has a problem, clean the glass surface of the CIS Unit assembly (Back) and
remove paper dust on the White Background and the black part of the CIS Unit assembly (Front).
After cleaning close the Main Unit by pushing the PUSH labels with both hands.
