3 Periodic Inspection and Maintenance
3.1 Maintenance Items
A list of the maintenance items for periodic inspection at site is shown below.
Those maintenances must be performed in the order of the number in the list.

Separator Roller
Reverse Roller Check the operation information and clean or replace
them accordingly. 3.3.2
Drive Roller Remove the foreign objects from the roller surface of
the Drive Rollers. 3.3.3
Pinch Roller Remove the foreign objects from the roller surface of
the Pinch Rollers. 3.3.4
Imprinting head
/Platen Cleaning the Imprinting Head 3.3.5
Ink Cartridge
*2 Clean the nozzle unit of the ink cartridge for the back
side. 3.3.6
Detector Clean the photo sensors (PC11 - 52). 3.3.7
Ultrasonic Sensor Remove the paper dust from the SS Sensor assembly
(M5/L5). 3.3.8
2 Applying greese
/ Replacing Gear in Feeder
separator unit Apply greese to the shaft of the Gear (S-P) and the
tooth of the clutch gear. When there is a tooth jump
sound or worn-out tooth, replace the gear. 3.3.9

3 Check after
cleaning Sensor level check for
the CIS Unit
assembly. Check the cleanliness level of the image sensors.
Use "Waveform Diagnosis" for the check. 7.11
4 Check Guide Latch Check and adjust the Guide Latch. Rub grease on the
left and right latches. 9.2
Guide Gap
(Left and Right side of
the device) Check the Guide Gap. If it is beyond the boundary,
adjust the Latch positions at both sides. 9.2
Gas Spring Operate the Main Latch Button and open the Main
Unit. If the Main Unit cannot stop closing, replace the
Gas Spring. 8.3.21
Gathering working
information Acquire working information of the device and
confirm it. 7.4
5 Imprint check Print check
*2 Check the front imprinter with actural printing.
Check the back imprinter with actural printing. *2 10.1.2
*1 : After cleaning, confirm that there is no crack or missing piece in the grass parts and that the white level reference label is
not detached. If there is anything wrong, replace with new maintenance parts.
*2 : This item is only applicable if the Scanner is equipped with the Imprint option (Back).
