6 Miscellaneous Tool
For Miscellaneous Tool, the host system and the Scanner are connected. The diagnostic program is launched on
the host system and diagnoses the Scanner. The main purpose of the Miscellaneous Tool is function check after
maintenance parts are replaced.
■ Miscellaneous Tool operation
Component Discription
Skew accuracy measurement Measures the accuracy of the conveyance system, the amount of
skew, and the amount of skew change.
(Skew and straightness of the image)
Block accuracy measurement Measures the accuracy of the conveyance system and the block
precision.
(Amount of stretch or shrinkage of the image)
Display of calibration informaion Displays the calibration information stored in the Scanner or a
file.
Information display of
Photo / SW / Ultrasonic sensor Displays the level and status of each sensor in real time.
This function is mostly used for isolating a failure location in the
ultrasonic sensor and detector sensors.
Mechanical operation Moves the mechanical drive system including motors as you
command. This function is mostly used for isolating a failure
location in the mechanical drive system.
Calibration of
scanner Auto Calibration Continuously runs all calibration including the white level and
feeding speed. This function is not used for the periodic
inspection and maintenance.
Calibration of
white level Calibrate the image level.
This function is used after replacing the CIS Unit assembly and
not used for the periodic inspection and maintenance.
Calibration of
feeding speed Caribrate the feeding speed.
This function is used for a counter measure when non-carbon
copy paper is fed and the diameter of the drive rollers get larger
as the rubber lining on the drive rollers is affected by the
chemical used in the non-carbon copy paper.
Measurement of USB data
transfer speed: Measures the USB data transfer speed.
This function is mainly used to specify whether a fault occurred
in USB connection to the host.

Component Discription
Imprint Test Checks Imprinters using Imprint Test or replaces the Ink Ribbon
Cassette or Ink Cartridge.
