2 Component Names and Functions
2.1. Component Names
Name Use
Power Switch Used for controling power state together with Main Power Switch on the right side
of the device.
Top Latch Button Used for opening the Top Unit when paper jam occurs in the Top Unit.
Top Unit Part opened by the Top Latch Button
Main Latch Button Used for opening the Main Unit when paper jam occurs in the paper feeder or
when image sensors are cleaned.
Main Unit Part opened by the Main Latch Button.
LED Indicator Shows the status of the Scanner.
Operation Button The functions of the panel switch are as follows.
(1) Stop scanning
(2) Restore from Power Save Mode
(3)Hand Feeding
Manual Feed Switch Used for scanning a single sheet and/or transparent holder manually
Input Tray Tray to put document in for scan.
Sheet Guide Used for aligning the right side of the documents put on the Input Tray.
Output Tray (L) Scanned documents are ejected to this tray. The host system specifies which
Output Tray is used as the tray where documents are ejected to.
Output Tray (U) Scanned documents are ejected to tray. The host system specifies which Output
Tray is used as the tray where documents are ejected to.
Output Tray Guide Improves alignment of document in the Output Trays in a width direction.
Imprint Cover (Front) Opens the cover when you replace the ribbon cassette for printing on the front
side.
A push-push mechanism is used for opening and closing the cover.
Imprint Cover (Back)
(option) Opens the cover when you replace the ink cartridge for printing on the back side.
A push-push mechanism is used for opening and closing the cover.
