Operating information
6.1.5 Using the E-Stop
The emergency stop button (E-Stop) is used in case of potential harm
to personnel. Pressing the E-Stop button will immediately stop power
to the mixer motor. To restart the unit, pull out the E-Stop button and
press the emergency reset button on the Touchscreen Console. Before
beginning operation, ensure that the E-Stop is not engaged. Turn on
the main power supply if it is off.
6.2 Checkpoints prior to liquid fill
Verify the following before proceeding to media fill:
9
The BPC has been loaded into the imPULSE S.U.M. by following
the instructions provided in section 5.2.
9
All aseptic connector port heavy-duty clamps are closed and
located as close as possible to the BPC.
9
The exhaust filter is upright and secured if applicable.
9
The clamp on the drain tube is closed and located as close as
possible to the BPC.
9
The air-filled BPC is properly oriented in the outer support
container.
9
The load cell display has been tared.
9
All sensors are inserted and connected to their respective
transmitters. Sensors must be properly oriented to ensure that they
are below the liquid level after liquid fill.
6.3 Filling the imPULSE S.U.M.
Before filling the imPULSE S.U.M., select the desired line set from the
BPC for fluid introduction. Make an aseptic connection (tubing welder,
quick connect, or tri-clamp) and use the steps in this section to begin
liquid fill. Use the following guidelines while filling:
• Verify the position of the BPC in the outer support container
(particularly the rolling diaphragm) after adding 1% of the mixer’s
volume with liquid.
Note:
Adjustment of the BPC after 10% of the
mixer has been filled is difficult, and not recommended. Adjust
positioning if necessary during filling for a proper fit.
• Pull the top corners of the BPC upward to reduce wrinkles during
filling.
Note:
You can view inside the BPC through the clear cap on
the BPC powder port to easily see any remaining wrinkles at the
bottom of the tank.
• If your system has a PCD, touch the top of the PCD Pressure
module, touch the
PCD pressure type field
, and then touch
Overlay
.
