Both the department code feature and the enforcement option are
enabled.
Department Code Feature is Disabled
In this case:
The controller ignores any department codes submitted with a print
job and does not prompt you to enter the code. This applies to all
jobs, including raw and non-Windows operating system jobs.
In the printer drivers, the
Department Code
label and
Edit
field are
disabled.
In Printer Utility, the
Enforce Department Codes
option is unavailable.
Only the Department Code Feature is Enabled
If the department code feature is enabled but enforcement is disabled:
In the printer drivers, the controller enables the
Department Code
label
and
Edit
fields.
If you enter a department code, the controller reports the code to the
copier and includes it in the print job, but does not check the validity
of the code.
Similarly, if a Macintosh, Unix, or raw print job includes a
department code, the code is not checked.
In Top Access, the
Enforce Department Codes
option is available.
