Printing Double-Sided Documents
Double-sided printing, called
duplex printing
, allows you to print
documents on both sides of the paper with a choice of short or long
binding edge.
Duplex options are disabled when you select
Book Format
on the
Layout
tab,
because duplex long edge printing options are implicit in that mode.
Select the
Long Edge
duplex option to produce a document printed
along the vertical binding edge. When the document is assembled, the
pages turn left to right (also known as
Booklet Mode
).
Select the
Short Edge
duplex option to produce a document printed
along the horizontal binding edge. When assembled, the pages turn
top to bottom (also known as
Tablet Mode
).
You may be able to rotate the text through 90° so that the
Short Edge
duplex option produces a booklet in landscape format.
