Configuring Microsoft Printer Ports
If your workstation uses the Windows 98 or Me operating systems, you
must configure the port settings after installing the printer.
The Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP operating systems,
allow you to specify the network path to the printer as part of the Add
Printer process.
Adding a New Port
1 From the Start menu, choose
Settings > Printers
.
2 Right-click the printer for which you want to add or reconfigure port
settings.
3 Choose
Properties
from the short-cut menu. The Properties dialog box
opens.
