MtcDsl Messages
IOPn.MtcDsl status: An invalid logical device operation type was encountered (offendingValue).
Severity
Error
Description
The Device Synchronization Layer encountered an invalid logical device operation type.
Hardware/Software
This message indicates an HP NetServer AA server software error or an intermittent IOP
hardware failure.
Action
•
Reboot the IOP and allow it to rejoin the HP NetServer AA server. Refer to
Chapter 9
in
HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator’s Guide
for information about how to reboot an
IOP.
•
Verify whether the IOP is experiencing intermittent hardware failures and correct any
failures.
IOPn.MtcDsl status: An invalid packet descriptor was encountered.

Description
Data traffic between IOPs and CEs is in packet format. This message is generated when an
invalid packet is encountered.
Hardware/Software
A packet descriptor goes through multiple levels of checking while in transit between HP
NetServer AA server elements. A packet descriptor was corrupted after it was received by a
particular IOP.
Action
•
Reboot the IOP and allow it to rejoin the HP NetServer AA server. Refer to
Chapter 9
in
HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator’s Guide
for information about how to reboot an
IOP.

Verify whether the IOP is experiencing intermittent hardware failures and correct any
failures.
