IOPn.MtcScsiP status: Unable to write one or more CE requested sectors SECTORn - SECTORm for DISKn. If
DISKn stays online, this error may be considered transient. Many transient errors may indicate the need for disk
replacement.
Variables
n – the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2
SECTORn – the starting sector in the range of sectors
SECTORm – the ending sector in the range of sectors
Severity
Error
Description
A CE write request did not complete despite repeated retries. The disk’s state will be set to
faulted. The sector addresses listed in the message indicate sectors that may contain bad spots.
Action
If the disk is the source disk for a mirror copy or if the disk was the only online member of the
mirror set, then the mirror set will become unavailable to the CEs. The disk may be reenabled,
but if it continues to fail, disk replacement may be necessary. It is also a good to verify the
SCSI termination and SCSI device connections.
If both members of the mirror set were online prior to the write error, then no interruption of
service for this mirror set will occur. The disk that experienced the write error can be
reenabled, and a copy to that disk will begin. In most cases, the disk will be perfectly usable
after the mirror copy. However, if the disk continues to fail, you may need to replace it.
