MIC BIOS Messages

Description
This message is displayed on the CEs when the MIC BIOS regains control from the System
BIOS. This begins the boot or synchronization process, depending on whether this is the first
or second CE to join the configuration.
Action
No action is required.
Floppy detected. Bypassing HP NetServer AA startup.
Severity

Description
The MIC BIOS will prevent an HP NetServer AA boot on a CE if it detects media in the first
removable disk drive. This is intended to allow firmware updates to the MIC.
Action
To perform an HP NetServer AA startup, remove the media and reboot.
Incompatible BIOS data area allocation
Severity
Error
Description
The System BIOS or other components in the system have allocated memory in the range
09000-09FFF in an unrecognized or unsupported way. This error is typically due to an
incompatibility with the System BIOS.
Action

If you have recently updated the BIOS or added components to the system, restore the
previously working configuration.

If this is a new configuration, contact your service provider for assistance.
Incompatible MIC PCI latency timer: value
Severity Error
Description
The latency timer for the PCI slot containing the MIC is less than 16 clocks (480 ns), which is
too low for the MIC to operate correctly.
Action
You can usually use the system BIOS setup utility to adjust this value. Change it to a value
greater than 16. This value should be the same for both CE MICs.
