is reinitialized to the pre-programmed value. The effect is such that the change must
remain stable at least as many times as the preset counter in order for the new state
to appear at the result.
2.3.2. TELEPROTECTION CONFIGURATION
The following teleprotection configurations are available at the smART P500 relay based
on the smART P2P protocol.
2.3.2.1. POTT (PERMISSIVE OVERREACH TRANSFERED TRIP)
In this configuration the direction of the current is determined at both ends of the line.
A trip is produced only if both relays see a fault in the protected segment of the line. If
one of the relays determines that the fault occurs outside the line segment then the
other relay is blocked. Figure 2-57 shows a diagram of such logic.

2.3.2.2. PUTT (PERMISIVE UNDERREACH TRANSFERRED
TRIP)
This configuration requires an under reach function to be implemented (zone 1: a 50
or 50H typical function). This under reach function trips the local breaker and is sent
to the far end of the line. This configuration also requires an overreach function (zone
2: 50, 50H ó 51) which covers faults that occur farther away (smaller currents). The
