6BCOMMUNICATION PORTS CONFIGURATION
0BPROTOCOL IEC 60870-101/104
Waiting time for complete packages indicates the time, in miliseconds, that the relay will
wait for a package to be completed before descarting it. Usually the packages are sent
contiguously by the master station but for a variety of reasons a package may not arrive
complete. This parameter is used by the relay to discard packages that have not arrived
completely in the specified time. Package is the basic communication unit for a given
protocol. In the IEC60870-101 protocol package means a link layer package. For the
BECO 7000 protocol it means a package of up to 2048.
Flow control could be ON or OFF. If it is on it uses the RTS, CTS commands for the
communications.
Comm. Mode chooses between Balanced or Unbalanced Communication. These are the
two possible working modes of the IEC60870-101 protocol.
The DLL Level address can be set between 1 and 65519. The directions for the BECO
7000 protocol and the IEC60870-101 protocol are not related but it is suggested that they
are configured as equal.
The Application Level Address can also be set between 1 and 65519. This value could be
different at a DLL level but to simplify it is suggested that it is the same.
The Remote Address indicates the address of the server that will receive the requests or
the information.
The information transfers can be either Confirmed or not. For the Confirmed information
transfers three new options are enabled. The “DLL Level Retries” indicates the number of
retries that the link layer will do when it sends the frames but does not receive confirmation.
If this number is set to 2, the link layer will send the message three times before discarting
it (the first time and 2 retries).
“Waiting time for response” sets the time, in milliseconds, which the relay will wait for the
confirmation of the data sent to the remote terminal using this port. If no answer is
obtained, the relay will resend the package.
Time between retransmissions sets the time between one transmission and the next.
