0BHARRIS 5000 PROTOCOL
6.2.3. COMPLETE MESSAGE
Both sent and received messages can have fixed length and variable length. For the
reception a message is considered complete and its LRC checked depending on the
function code and the port configuration.
Sample message of fixed length: “03 Status Change Check”, which asks the
number of changes of state of binary inputs waiting to report.
1 direction byte (Bit SOM set to 1)
1 function byte (0x03)
1 LRC byte
Sample message of variable length: “00- Data Dump”, which requests the
counters and the analog inputs, the length of the message will be:
1 direction byte (Bit SOM set to 1)
1 function byte (0x00)
1 byte for each configured analog and accumulator.
1 LRC byte
