(1) Replacing the battery
All data, such as the parameters and machining programs that need to be backed up when the
power is turned OFF, are saved by a lithium battery installed in the control unit's battery holder.
Replace the battery when the battery voltage drop caution alarm appears on the NC screen. The
internal data could be damaged if the battery voltage drop warning alarm appears.

(a) Replacement procedures
Always replace the battery with the control unit power turned OFF.
Complete the replacement within 30 minutes after turning the power OFF. (If the battery is not
connected within 30 minutes, the data being backed up will be destroyed.)
The EZMotion-NC E60/E68 control unit is generally installed on the operation panel/operation
pendant.
1) Confirm that the power is OFF. (If still ON, turn the power OFF.)
2) Open the operation panel door, and confirm that the control unit LED is OFF.
3) Remove the three screws fixing the control unit cover, and remove the cover.
4) Remove the battery from the battery holder.
5) Disconnect the battery connection connector from the memory PCB (HR741/742)
6) Replace with a new battery, and connect the battery connection connector to the memory PCB
(HR741/742). Pay attention to the connector orientation, and do not insert the connector with
force.
7) Fit the battery into the battery holder.
8) Mount the control unit cover, and fix with the three screws. Pay attention to the screw type at
this time.
9) Close the operation panel door.
