solved.

See Chapter 3, “Parts listing, Types 7901 and 7902,” on page 19 to determine which components are CRUs and
which components are FRUs.

If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.
Symptom
Action
The screen is blank.
1.
Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see “Solving
shared BladeCenter resource problems” on page 160).
2.
Check the management-module event log for related errors (see the
Management Module User’s Guide
or the
Management Module Command-Line
Interface Reference Guide
).
3.
Make sure that:
v
The video from another blade server works.
v
Damaged BIOS software is not affecting the video; see “Recovering from a
BIOS update failure” on page 158.
v
The device drivers are installed correctly.
4.
Reseat the following components:
a.
Reseat the memory (see “Removing a memory module” on page 37 and
“Installing a memory module” on page 38)
b.
(Trained service technician only) Reseat the microprocessors (see
“Removing a microprocessor and heat sink” on page 57 and “Installing a
microprocessor and heat sink” on page 59).
5.
(Trained service technician only) Replace the system-board assembly (see
“Removing the system-board assembly” on page 62 and “Installing the
system-board assembly” on page 62).
The monitor has screen jitter, or
the screen image is wavy,
unreadable, rolling, or
distorted.
1.
Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see “Solving
shared BladeCenter resource problems” on page 160).
2.
Make sure that the video from another blade server works.
3.
(Trained service technician only) Replace the system-board assembly (see
“Removing the system-board assembly” on page 62 and “Installing the
system-board assembly” on page 62).
Wrong characters appear on the
screen.
1.
If the wrong language is displayed, update the firmware or operating system
with the correct language in the blade server that has ownership of the
monitor.
2.
Check the function of the shared BladeCenter unit resources (see “Solving
shared BladeCenter resource problems” on page 160).
3.
Make sure that the video from another blade server works.
4.
(Trained service technician only) Replace the system-board assembly (see
“Removing the system-board assembly” on page 62 and “Installing the
system-board assembly” on page 62).
Network connection problems
The blade server connects to the network using shared BladeCenter unit resources.
See the following table and “Solving shared BladeCenter resource problems” on
page 160.
