6-1.2.4. ECP Engine Operational Check
Procedure
1.
Fuel Selector Valve..............................................ON
2.
Throttle.................................................................IDLE
3.
Master Power Switch ...........................................ON
4.
FADEC POWER Switch .....................................OFF
5.
BPMS...................................................................OFF
6.
Ignition Enable button..........................................DEPRESS
RESULT: FADEC CAUTION and FADEC WARNING lamps are ON. Ignition
Enable button changes color from red to green. Boost Pump energizes.
7.
TEST B ................................................................DEPRESS and RELEASE
RESULT: The FADEC CAUTION lamp is ON and the FADEC WARNING lamp is
OFF for the duration TEST B is depressed. TEST DISABLED appears in Message
Display.
8.
TEST A ................................................................DEPRESS and RELEASE
RESULT: The FADEC CAUTION lamp is ON and the FADEC WARNING lamp is
OFF for the duration TEST B is depressed. TEST DISABLED appears in Message
Display.
9.
Start the engine (“Engine Start” instructions in Chapter 7 of OI-24).
NOTE: If a small puff of smoke is emitted from the engine
immediately upon engine start-up, there may have been a small
amount of preservation oil remaining in the cylinders, induction
system, and/or fuel nozzles/lines. The smoke should quickly
dissipate; if smoke persists, shut down the engine (“Engine
Shutdown” in Chapter 7) and investigate the cause.
10.
Check the ECP Message Display for error messages. If a CAUTION or WARNING
lamp is ON, address the cause.
CAUTION: Operating the engine without oil pressure will result in
engine malfunction or stoppage.
11.
Check the oil pressure. If no oil pressure is noted, shut down the engine and
investigate the cause.
12.
Operate the engine at 750 RPM (idle speed) for 1 minute, gradually increasing the
speed to 1000 RPM in 3 minutes. If the engine will not idle at the proper speed
(RPM), refer to the “Fuel System Adjustment” section of Chapter 9.
