Section 03 ENGINE

Subsection 08 (CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT))

1. Arrow towards the back of the vehicle
2. Drive pulley (front)
3. Driven pulley (rear)

NOTE:

To ease installation of CVT cover with gas-

ket, put in a few locations, a small amount of Loc-
tite 5910 (P/N 293 800 081) in the groove of CVT
cover. Place the gasket in the groove and remove
excessive Loctite. Install cover with gasket imme-
diately.

Install the center top screw of cover in first.

Install the other screws then torque them in a
crisscross sequence.

Drive Pulley Removal

Remove drive belt.

To block drive pulley, two methods can be used.

First Method

Lock crankshaft. Refer to

CRANKCASE/CRANK-

SHAFT

section.

Second Method

Block drive pulley with the pulley holding tool
(P/N 529 006 400).
