A. Valve spring length

VALVE SPRING FREE LENGTH

NEW

40.81 mm (1.607 in)

SERVICE LIMIT

39.00 mm (1.535 in)

Replace valve springs if not within specifications.

Valve Spring Installation

For installation, reverse the removal procedure.
Pay attention to the following details.

Colored area of the valve springs must be placed
on top.

NOTE:

Valve cotters must be properly engaged in

valve stem grooves.

After spring is installed, ensure it is properly
locked by tapping on valve stem end with a soft
hammer, so that valve opens and closes a few
times.

CAUTION: An improperly locked valve spring
will cause engine damage.
