Probe wires while paying attention to the diode
polarity.

FORWARD POLARITY, MUST BE AROUND 0.5 V

REVERSE POLARITY, MUST BE OPEN CIRCUIT

If test failed, replace diode.

NOTE:

Diode is located in main wiring harness

near solenoid. It is approximately 22 cm (8-3/4 in)
from the main fuse holder as shown in following
picture.

Disconnect the black (-) negative battery cable.

Disconnect the small terminal wires from the so-
lenoid.
