Replace piston pin if diameter is out of specifica-
tions.

Piston Pin/Connecting Rod Bushing Clearance

Measure inside diameter of connecting rod.

CONNECTING ROD SMALL END DIAMETER

SERVICE LIMIT

Replace connecting rod if diameter of connect-
ing rod small end is out of specifications. Refer

CRANKCASE/CRANKSHAFT

for removal proce-

dure.

Piston Installation

For installation, reverse the removal procedure.
Pay attention to the following details.

Apply engine oil on the piston pin.

Place piston

no. 37

over connecting rod. Position

the piston with the punched arrow towards the
exhaust side.

Insert piston pin

no. 38

into piston and connecting

rod.

Use the piston circlip installer (P/N 529 035 921)
to assemble the new piston circlip

following procedure:

CAUTION: Always replace disassembled pis-
ton circlip(s) by new ones. Place a rag on cylin-
der base to avoid dropping the circlip inside the
engine.

Place circlip in sleeve as per following illustration.
