2.4.1 SCRAPPING, PLACING THE EQUIPMENT
OUT OF USE
Whenever the equipment must be scrapped or placed out
of use for a long period of time, the following precautions
must be taken to avoid polluting the environment:
•
All the hydraulic oil in the electro-hydraulic unit, jacks
and pipes must be carefully drained.
•
The other parts of the lift must be treated in the
same way as special waste and the machine must
be dismantled by separating its components into
separate groups in observance of the anti-pollution
laws in force in the nation of use.
Bear in mind that:
•
Spent oil is considered special waste.
•
All rubber parts are considered special waste.
•
All scrap metal is considered special waste.
In Italy, whenever the components above are conserved
on the premises, a request must be made for authorisation
for temporary storage.
In any case however, we recommend contacting the
supplier in order to learn the names of the companies
authorised for the elimination of such waste.
