Forum Gateway 560

Configurator: Telephony: Ports

The Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system and a
Forum Gateway 560 signal to one another via an IP-based protocol. In
addition, other IP-based protocols are used, e.g. audio files are transferred via
RTP.

The Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system and all connected
Forum Gateways 560 must be operated on a LAN. Lossless data transfer with
low latency and 100 Mbit/s is the prerequisite for interference-free
telephony. To ensure data transfer you should use suitable network
technology, e.g. a switch with QoS, an own VLAN or wiring separate from the
company LAN.

Routers can be used to connect the Forum 5004/5008/5012
communications system and the Forum Gateways 560. Using the web
interface of the Forum Gateway 560 booter you have to define a fixed IP
address and the standard gateway to be used (see

Forum Gateway 560 via Router

starting on page 81). Please note that due to

the speed requirements a connection via internet is not supported.
