Automatic Call Recording
Technical notes on automatic call recordings

When automatic call recording is taking place, the Forum 5004/5008/
5012 communications system occupies a voice channel on the “Forum
Voicemail” voicemail system.

In order to use the
Forum Auto Call Recording
feature, an additional
memory module must be installed in the Forum 5004/5008/5012
communications system (see also the chapter

When automatic call recording is taking place, other callers cannot use the
call waiting function with internal users involved in the recording.
Licences
A licence (licence name “Forum 5000 Call Recording”) is required to use the
Forum Auto Call Recording
feature. You can also activate a demo version to
enable the system to be used for a limited period of time for testing purposes.
A licence is also required to use the “Forum Voicemail” application.

Mode of Operation
The information below makes it easier to understand the connection
situations outlined in this chapter and the effect these situations have on call
recording.

Subscriber no. 1 refers to the external party.
●
Subscriber no. 2 refers to the internal user with whom the call was origi-
nally made at the start of recording.
●
Subscriber no. 3 refers to an additional subscriber who is included in the
connection or to whom the connection has been transferred.
Start and end of call recording
The communications system starts recording the call as soon as a connection
is established with which two subscribers are talking to one another. At the
start of recording, this is subscriber no. 1 and subscriber no. 2. As soon as the
connection to subscriber no. 1 is terminated, call recording is ended.
