SIP Telephony
Voice over IP (VoIP)

After restart, the logged out SIP system telephone will show a login page. A
user can enter his call number and his user PIN. If a device entry with this call
number exists and has the same device type, the login procedure continues. If
the device entry is currently active on another device, the associated remote
SIP system telephone will be logged out automatically and will show a login
page on its part. The now logged in SIP system telephone starts and will get
its configuration from the newly assigned device entry.
Note:
When adding the device entry, it is also possible to activate the
Logged out
option.
SIP Entrance Intercom Systems
You can operate IP-based entrance intercom systems (EIS) in the
Forum 5004/5008/5012. The “SIP” protocol is used for signalling. As far as
the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system is concerned, an SIP
entrance intercom system (SIP EIS) is an SIP telephone produced by another
manufacturer that is used for the audio connection to the door. You can find
information about installing a SIP EIS in the relevant documentation provided
by the manufacture.
Technical Requirements
To operate an SIP EIS, the communications system must be equipped to
operate SIP standard terminals.
●
A licence is required to operate SIP standard terminals. Please see the
explanations in the
starting on page 166 section.
●
The integrated relays that are used to grant access through the door are
controlled using DTMF. DTMF signalling as per RFC4733 is commonly used
for this purpose. The VoIP profile of a SIP EIS should therefore include the
DTMF (RFC 4733) (event)
codec.
Configuring SIP EISs
The configuration of a SIP EIS consists of two configuration sections:
●
Setup of the SIP EIS in the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications
system (system configuration). This process generates the SIP parameters
that are necessary for registration of the SIP EIS in the Forum 5004/
5008/5012 communications system.
