5. Function of the key LED
: If the action needs to be triggered with a
function key on the system phone, select the desired setting for the
behaviour of the key LED (also see the
Configuring the Key LED Function
starting on page 310 chapter).
6. Time for pulse
and
Time for pause
: With these time values, the
Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system controls the flashing
rhythm when flashing is switched on (
Command
=
on
of
Command
=
switch over
):
–
Time for pulse
: Flashing is on.
–
Time for pause
: Flashing is off.
If flashing is to be switched off, (
Command
=
off
) these fields are not
displayed.
Note:
Time values shorter than 1 second will cause an arrhythmical
flashing pattern and should be avoided.

Configuring the Key LED Function on the System Phone
For actions that are controlled on a system phone, the behaviour of the key
LED is configured using the
Function of the key LED
setting in the actions
configuration dialogue. Please read the
Perform Action with a Function Key
starting on page 313 chapter for information on
programming function keys.
The key LED behaviour can be configured as follows:
●
on
: The LED is switched on as soon as the action is triggered on the system
phone.
●
off
: The LED is switched off as soon as the action is triggered on the
system phone.
●
Status
: The LED indicates the current relay status. The communications
system “listens” on the field bus and registers when another bus partic-
ipant has issued the command to switch the actor.
Example: Function keys for switching the staircase lights on and off have
been set up on several system phones. If one of these phones issues the
action “Light on” or “Light off” and the actor of the staircase light switches
accordingly, the key LED on the system phone will indicate the status.
