Setting Up Hunt Groups

Hunt Group Calls
●
With the
Comfort
type, you can set up a (licensed)
comfort hunt group
. A
new hunt group call is first assigned to the group member that has not
made or taken a call for the longest period of time. This process not only
takes account of hunt group calls for this comfort hunt group, but also any
(incoming and outgoing) calls made/taken by the member. If this member
does not accept the hunt group call, the next member that has been free
for the longest time is called. For the system to respond in this way, a value
of “> 0” must have been selected for the setting
Time for call connection
by member (0=no timeout)
. If the value “0” has been selected, the hunt
group call is signalled to the member called first until the member accepts
the hunt group call or the caller hangs up. If all logged-in members are
busy, calls are parked in the group's
call queue
.
You can configure (licensed)
standard hunt groups
using the other types
that are available for selection.
●
Type
Linear
: The hunt group call is first routed to the member with call
number 1. If this member is busy or unavailable, the hunt group call is
directed to the member with call number 2, etc. New hunt group calls are
again signalled to call number 1, then to call number 2, and so on.
●
Type
Cyclical
: Similar to the “Linear” type, except a hunt group call is first
forwarded to the member that was not called during the previous hunt
group call. Example: The first hunt group call was answered by the
member with call number 5. The next hunt group call is then signalled to
the member with call number 6 first.
●
Type
Statistical
: The call is always first directed to the group member
whose terminal has not occupied a line for the longest period of time (i.e.
the one who has not had any internal or external calls). If this member
does not accept the hunt group call, the member that is statistically in
position 2 is then called, and so on.
●
Type
Parallel
: The hunt group call is simultaneously signalled to all
terminals in the group.
Other settings are required, depending on the hunt group call type selected. A
detailed description of the other input fields can be found in the online help
for the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system.
The following chapters provide information about aspects that are important
to consider when configuring hunt groups. The information is provided in
summarised form.
