MRE Re-boxing – ER
ER (MRE Re-boxing) Screen
The ER screen is used to associate patients’ MREs with a new retained medical
records (MR) box. These MREs may already be associated with an existing retained
MR box, or this may be the first time that these MREs are being recorded within the
system.
Using the ER Screen
There are four sub-screens:
•
The ER-I screen can be used to associate many patient MREs with an MRE
box number.
•
The ER-B screen can used when moving all MREs within one box to another
box.
•
The ER-F screen is used when moving MREs currently associated with a box
number to a new box number, or adding MREs to a new box number using
details supplied in a Unix file.
•
The ER-U screen is used when moving all MREs currently associated with a
set of box numbers to a new set of box numbers using details supplied in a
UNIX file. A report file of successful updates is also produced.
The ER-I Screen
A new box number and a flag to indicate if the MREs have already been recorded in
the system are entered in the top half of the screen. The NHS number of the patient
whose records are to be placed in the box is then entered. On update, the first two
fields will remain populated and the cursor will be positioned in the
NHS Number
field to allow rapid entry of further MREs into the same box.
The ER-B Screen
An existing and a new box number must be entered. On updating the screen the
number of patients associated with the existing box will be displayed as well up to 48
NHS numbers associated with that box. If the box contains MREs for more than 48
patients the text
(+ more)
will be displayed on line 23 of the screen.
The ER-F Screen
This screen may be used when moving MREs currently associated with a box number
to a new box number, or adding MREs to a new box number, using details supplied in
a Unix file.
A report of any failures will be produced as well as a report file of successful updates.
