PDS Background Queue – BQ
BQ (PDS Background Queue) Screen
The BQ screen is used to report on conditions which occur when background
processes attempt to update patient records on the PDS.
The BQ screen is also used to report on any activity which takes place on a patient
record that has an ‘S’ stop note on the PDS. See
BQ Batch Zero
later in this chapter.
The background processes which can make entries on the BQ screen are:
•
ADBA – this is the background process to update address information on the
PDS from the MK screen and AJ-AFQU.
•
AJ-BT
•
AJ-BAML
•
AJ-DUAJ
•
DDRB – this is the background process for “DDR” type deductions.
•
FP69 – this is a background process for “FP69” type deductions.
•
BB69 – this is a background process for “FP69” type deductions.
These conditions arise when updates cannot be performed, either because of issues
with the availability of the PDS or with the data held on the NHAIS system and the
PDS.
There are two types of error:
•
Temporary exceptions
are for information only. They should be resolved by
the next run of the batch process, but should still be checked.
•
Errors
, which need attention. You can record notes against these errors or
send the details to yourself via email. When the outstanding issues have been
cleared you can change the error’s status resolved.
The BQ screen allows you to view a batch of patients where these temporary
exceptions or errors have occurred; for example, where a process attempts to update
the postcode for a patient registered on the PDS who is recorded as having a date of
death.
NOTE
This screen does not provide a facility to re-queue any batches which are
shown to be in error.
For details on what to do when you encounter an exception, please refer to the Stage 3
Exceptions Handling web page at:

A “hot key” function is available from the
Key
field of the BQ Screen display of an
existing patient on the system and can be invoked by pressing
Ctrl
and
T
simultaneously.
