Registration Reference Manual
Registration Audit – RA
RA (Registration Audit) Screen
The RA screen provides an audit of the last 99 transactions of registration activity
made on registration applications*, to a patient’s record.
Auditing registration transactions should help to combat the fraudulent issue of multiple
FP4 Medical cards and Prescription Exemption certificates. FP4 Medical cards are
commonly used by patients as a formal means of identification.
Details held for each change include:
•
the date the transaction was made;
•
the time that the transaction was logged;
•
the screen / application used to make the change;
•
the operator’s User ID – the operator’s name can also be displayed, when
available, via a pop-up box;
•
a brief description of the transaction; and
•
the source of the patient’s NHS number.
NOTE
Details are read-only.
*
The applications and the associated changes that may be recorded by RA are
listed at the end of this chapter.
Access
Access to the RA screen is controlled by your site.
Use of the RA Screen
RA auditing is optional. The default installation for all sites will be for the capture of
all the Registration changes detailed at the end of this section. However, at the time of
the installation, each site will be given the opportunity to determine which
applications they wish to capture information for. Switches will then be set
accordingly: for example, if a site wish to capture all activities with the exception of
those relating to the PN and DN screens, a switch corresponding to each of these
screens will be established.
In addition, FP4 Medical Card activity may be captured without the need to record
other audit information. FP4 requests and cancellations are captured from the Child
Health, GP Links, ID and NHSCR applications. A switch may be set to allow the
capture of the FP4 transactions without the capture of other transactions in the Child
Health, GP Links, ID and NHSCR applications.
Using the switches a site may, for example, capture only FP4 Medical Card and
Prescription Exemption Certificate transactions by electing, at the time of installation,
to switch ‘off’ all applications except PE, and to switch ‘on’ capture of FP4 activity.
