1.1 Methods
Notes:
1. The reagent reacts with all soluble iron and most insoluble forms of iron in the water
sample.
2. Iron oxide requires a prior digestion, use mild, vigorous or Digesdahl digestion (e.g. for
digestion with acid see page 143).
3. Very strong alkaline or acidic water samples must be adjusted to a ph-Value between
3 and 5 before analysis.
4. Accuracy is not affected by undissolved powder.
5. Water samples containing visible rust should be allowed to react at least five minutes.
