properly, but the brain may
have moved far away from the
skull so that there is poor
contact between the skull, the
transducer and the dura. This
may happen soon after the
transducer is placed, but the
transducer can correct itself in
a short time.
The monitor
displays good
waveforms, but the
ICP reading is
negative.
Improper zeroing.
The ICT/B cannot read negative
pressure. Rezero the monitor
/transducer combination. Make sure
that the female luer is not blocked
when the readings is measured.
The waveform on
the monitor makes
large periodic
fluctuations.
If you are using a respirator or
some device that applies
pressure even indirectly, the
ICP might be affected. The
transducer normally can reflect
the pressure change.
