When an Alarm Occurs

When an alarm occurs, always check the patient’s condition first.
When an alarm occurs to the monitor, refer to the following steps and take action
properly.
1. Check the patient’s condition.
2. Identify the alarming parameter and the alarm category.
3. Identify the cause of the alarm.
4. Take action to remedy the alarm cause.
5. Check if the alarm is cleared.
