Program Branch PARAMETER
314.2 mm
Pipe Circumfer.
P3-1 FLUXUS calculates the pipe
circumference using the last displayed
data for the outside diameter.
(For example: 100 mm x
π
= 314.2 mm)
180 mm
Pipe Circumfer.
P3-1
Now, enter the actual circumference of the
pipe.
(The parameter limits for the circumference are calculated using
the data for the corresponding outside diameters.)
57.3 mm
Outer Diameter
P3
During the next scroll through the program
branch PARAMETER, the outside
diameter will be displayed according to the
last entered data for the circumference of
the pipe.
(For example: 180 : 3.142 = 57.3)
Note:
Editing of the circumference is of a temporary nature. When the unit switches back
to the pipe circumference (internal re-calculation), slight rounding errors may occur.
Example: Entered circumference = 100 mm -> displayed outer diameter = 31.8 mm.
When the unit switches back to the circumference internally, a value of 99.9 mm will be
displayed.
The next display is for entering the wall thickness of the pipe.
4.2.2 Wall Thickness
3.0 mm
Wall Thickness
P4
Enter the pipewall thickness within the range
of the transducer characteristics.
(This parameter is pre-set to 3.0 mm.)
Attention!
FLUXUS checks the correlation between entered outside diameter and pipewall
thickness. Inputs shall be within the
inner diameter
range for the transducers used.
Otherwise, an error message appears (see page 4-1).
The next display requests the selection of the pipe material.
4.2.3 Pipe Material
The important parameter with regard to the pipe material is the sound velocity. The
sound velocities for the pipe materials on offer in this display group are already
programmed into the instrument
. (Table 1 in chapter 17 gives an overview thereof.)
