Heat Quantity Measurement
During the positioning procedure for the transducers
FLUXUS checks that all necessary set-up values are complete and that other pre-
conditions for measuring heat quantity are met.
*INVALID MEDIUM*
Heat Flow
F*
This error message appears, if a medium
was selected, for which there are no
associated polynom coefficients to
approximate the specific heat capacity
available.
(Please see chapter 8.8 for further explanations
and the supplied disk with instructions, on how to download the
heat quantity coefficients from a PC.)
At its next step FLUXUS controls the two temperature channels (all activated
channels in case of multi-channel measurement):
Attention!
The checks for the temperature channels only take place if heat flow was selected as
the measuring quantity.
T1= 90.2 C
T2= 70.4 C
#
M*
FLUXUS permanently measures the two
temperatures and displays them. Press
any key to continue.
T1=?UNDEF C
T2= 70.4 C
M*
If a temperature cannot be measured
(e.g.
the Pt100 probe is not plugged in or is defective)
,
FLUXUS displays '?UNDEF' instead of
the temperature value.
(In this example: T1)
Press any key to continue.
T1 manual FIX
0.0 C
M*
Enter a constant value for this
temperature.
(In our example: T1)
#
T1= 90.2 C(FIX)
T2= 70.4 C
M* FLUXUS reminds you that the
temperature T1 was not measured
directly but was entered as fixed value.
The indicated temperature for T1 is
marked with the suffix (FIX).
Press any key to continue.
Note:
•
The input of a fixed temperature value is sometimes advisable, e.g. where the
measurement at the inlet cannot be easily undertaken, but the temperature is
known and constant.
•
Also two temperatures can be entered as constants (e.g. for simulations). For
this, do
not plug
the two connectors for the Pt100
probes into the respective
sockets of FLUXUS.
