Wall Thickness Measurement

Change to Operational Mode WTM
You can change the operational mode from flow measurement to
wall thickness measurement as
follows:
•
Connect the probe cable into the socket
at the front of the unit.
(FLUXUS will change
automatically to the operational mode WTM.)
•
Call the MAIN MENU by pressing key
BRK if necessary.

P* This message appears for 1 second. It
acknowledges the detection of the probe
and shows that the WTM option is
available.
The MAIN MENU of the WTM option will appear next, showing that FLUXUS is in
the operational mode for wall thickness measurement. The operation of the
menus works in a similar way to that for flow measurement.
(The menu branches are
adapted to wall thickness measurement.)

Note:
•
FLUXUS stays in the operational mode for wall thickness measurement as long
as you do not disconnect the probe from the instrument.
•
Key BRK always calls the MAIN MENU of the WTM option.
•
FLUXUS can be switched OFF by pressing key BRK three times.
•
FLUXUS immediately goes into the operational mode for wall thickness
measurement if the probe is already plugged into the socket when you switch the
unit ON. Also in WTM mode, you may enter a HotCode after the MAIN MENU
appears.
•
The parameter record for the flow measurement will not be influenced, apart
from the possible change of the measured wall thickness for the pipe.
12.4 WTM Program Branch PARAMETER
The program branch PARAMETER will be modified by FLUXUS as soon as the
instrument changes into the operational mode for wall thickness measurement
(WTM).
12.4.1 Parameter Input for the Determination of the Wall
Thickness
In order to determine the wall thickness, you need to input the sound velocity of
the material.
